I completed a multidisciplinary fellowship in foot & ankle reconstructive surgery with an emphasis on limb salvage procedures. I received unique training in diabetic wound closure via various random/nonrandom skin flaps including rotational, transpositional, pedicled and muscle flaps as well as harvesting and placement of split thickness skin grafts. Extensive experience was gained with application of complex external fixation devices for major lower extremity reconstructive surgeries.

Dr. Meredith Ward is a North Carolina native, Tar Heel born and bred.
She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in Public Health Nutrition with highest honors. She attended Des Moines University where she received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Ward finished her training with a 3-year intensive foot and ankle surgical residency in Hartford, Connecticut where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Ward is triple board certified, holding board certifications from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery; from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine in Podiatric Medicine with an added credential in Amputation Prevention; and from the American Board of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist Physician.
Dr. Ward serves as the Medicaid Liaison for the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society and sits on the board of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society. She also serves as a state delegate for the American Podiatric Medical Association House of Delegates. She has held numerous committee appointments both at the state and national level within the podiatric community.
Her podiatric interests include reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, wound care, and diabetic limb salvage.
In her spare time, Dr. Ward enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her pets and her friends.
Dr. Trusha Jariwala was born in India and relocated to Gainesville, Florida where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors from the University of Florida, Go Gators! She obtained her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree as class valedictorian from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. In addition, Dr. Jariwala completed a 3-year surgical residency at Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut; she has inpatient, outpatient, and advanced surgical experiences including but not limited to reconstructive and trauma procedures. Dr. Jariwala has received training from some of the top physicians in the fields of foot, ankle, and plastic surgery. She has been involved with patient care ranging from initial history, physical, medical management, biomechanical evaluation, postoperative care, diabetic wound care, surgical reconstruction for Charcot, flatfoot, cavus foot, and rigid equinus with internal and external fixator systems. Dr. Jariwala is committed to educating her patients with a clear understanding of their diagnosis and providing them with their best treatment options and care. Dr. Jariwala speaks English, Gujrati, and Hindi; on her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, teaching, reading/researching, and spending time with her family & friends.
